Sincona sale 92, lot 39

This specimen was lot 39 in Sincona sale 92 (Zürich, October 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN Durrani Dynasty, Ahmad Shah, 1160-1186 AH (1747-1772). Rupi 1178 AH (1764/1765), Mashhad Mint. Fast FDC. Leicht gereinigt, About Mint State, Lightly cleaned. Purchased from A. Saeedi, London, in 1996."

According to the SCWC, the Mashhad mint struck this type 1168/8, 116x/9, 1170/10, 1171/11 and 1186. On this example, the date ("١١٧٨") is visible on the left of the obverse.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
