This specimen was lot 100 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$264 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"IRAN, Afsharid Dynasty, Shahrokh, 1st reign, 1161-1163 AH (1748-1750). Rupi 1162 AH (1749), Mashhad Mint. NGC AU58. Purchased from Warden Jr., Boston, Massachusetts, in 1995."
Shahrokh survived the immediate turmoil after Nader's assassination and sat on the throne three times, AH 1161-63, AH 1163-66 and AH 1168-1210. He was finally murdered in 1796 after the Qajar takeover. This rupi was struck AH 1161-62 at Mashhad and five other mints.
