The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"[[Iran|IRAN]], Afsharid Dynasty, Shahrokh, 1st reign, 1161-1163 AH (1748-1750). Rupi 1162 AH (1749), Mashhad Mint. NGC AU58. Purchased from Warden Jr., Boston, Massachusetts, in 1995."</blockquote> Shahrokh survived the immediate turmoil after Nader's assassination and sat on the throne three times, AH 1161-63, AH 1163-66 and AH 1168-1210. He was finally murdered in 1796 after the Qajar takeover. This rupi was struck AH 1161-62 at Mashhad and five other mints.

Sincona sale 88, lot 100

This specimen was lot 100 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$264 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Afsharid Dynasty, Shahrokh, 1st reign, 1161-1163 AH (1748-1750). Rupi 1162 AH (1749), Mashhad Mint. NGC AU58. Purchased from Warden Jr., Boston, Massachusetts, in 1995."
