This specimen was lot 10079 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €504 (about US$525). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 2 Skilling, 1603. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC MS-62. Spots on Reverse. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1603-13 and was worth 1/48 of a speciedaler. Varieties exist. Christian IV (r. 1588-1648) had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 1.78 g, 0.296 fine silver, 25 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-16.1; Hede-79A; Sieg-30.1; Schou-23; Bruun-4661.
