This issue, from the Paris mint, is a common date of a type struck in France 1825-30. All francs of Charles X are of this type with the exception of some very rare reeded edge specimens issued in 1830. It was demonetized in 1869.
A complete set of this type comprises 84 date and mintmark combinations, many very rare. The entire production run, 1825-30, totaled about 5.3 million pieces. The production of five franc pieces in the same period was 123 million. This date is priced about 30% higher than the commonest dates (1828A and 1828W). The first specimen was lot 1765 in CGB sale 31 (Paris, June 2007).
