This copper-nickel two centavos was minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1870-77. It was converted to copper in 1878 (KM 147a) and struck in that form until 1894. A slightly larger 2½ centavos was issued beginning in 1886. The type is not rare but most survivors are in poor condition.
