The first specimen was lot 3359 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. Peso, 1876. NGC MS-64. Finest certified of this date. Toned." This is a common date of a common type, struck 1867-91. Many were counterstamped for use in Guatemala.

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, edge reeded.
