Sincona sale 87, lot 2861

This specimen was lot 2861 in Sincona sale 87 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POLEN, Ort (1/4 Taler) 1661 D-L, Danzig. Mit Titel von Johann II. Casimir. Sehr schön. (kingdom of Poland, John Casimir, 1649-88, quarter thaler or ort of 1661, Danzig mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1652, 1655-66 and is listed as common in grades up thru Very Fine.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 5.68 g.
