This specimen was lot 24284 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "Sailana State. George V Proof 1/4 Anna 1912, PR65 BN NGC, while this coin is toned with one small spot behind the King's bust, there is no doubt that this is an original Proof. These India State Proofs are even rarer than their British India counterparts. From The Ted Reams Collection." This and a quarter anna for 1908 are the only issues from this state during the twentieth century. The last ruler, Dilip Singh Bahadur, abdicated in 1948.
Recorded mintage: 224,000 plus a few proofs.
