This type was struck in large quantities at the Naples, Turin and Milan (shown here) mints 1861-62 and 1867 during the reign of Victorio Emanuele II of Italy. It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French two centimes. Gigante[1] comments that the 1867 was struck at Milan with a frozen date 1868 and 1883-92. The next issue of this denomination would be in 1895.

Recorded mintage: 5,000,000 (Turin) plus 54,211,919 (Milan).

Specification: 2 g, bronze, 20 mm diameter.
