The specimen shown is one of a series struck 1864-65 at the Lima mint. The denomination does not seem to have been a success as no more were struck until 1907. It may have been displaced by a currency note.
Recorded mintage: unknown but reasonably common.
Specification: 12.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .361 troy oz ASW.
