This specimen was lot 30096 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,406.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg. Friedrich III gold Ducat 1755-LCK, MS62 NGC. Obv. Bust of Friedrich III right. Rev. Crowned coat of arms in cartouche. Issued to commemorate the 200-year celebration of religious peace. A very scarce one-year type. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman / B.G. Johnson." Ducats from this postage stamp state are rare and expensive.
