This specimen was lot 41167 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALTA. 15 Tari, 1776. Emmanuel de Rohan (1775-97). NGC MS-62. Surprising quality for this typically crude issue, possessing sharp detail throughout the obverse and reverse designs and semi-reflective gleam that enlivens the fields. Presently the single finest graded at either NGC or PCGS with the added allure of being struck during a year that enduringly appeals to American collectors." This type is listed for 1776-77. It accompanied a thirty tari (Dav-1606).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM-304; Schembri-pg. 176#1; Restelli & Sammut-37.
