This specimen was lot 24880 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $9,775. The catalog description[1] noted,
"William & Mary Crown 1692, QVARTO edge date, MS61 NGC, bright luster, pleasingly mark-free portraits, slight bit of softness of strike at 12 o'clock on each side but generally this coin is nice and sharp in its details, finer than most seen. A series of horizontal diebreaks in the first quadrant of the reverse shield. This coin grows on you, the more you study it. Rare! The 2011 SCBC value is £4,500 in EF with no higher price given because that is the best grade generally available. Pricing this excellent crown at that, the value is about US$7200. It should be worth more but the bidders will decide."
This type is recorded for 1692-93. Queen Mary died in 1694 and the crowns of 1695-1700 bore William III alone.
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
Specification: silver.
