Künker sale 293, lot 566

This specimen was lot 566 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €300 (about US$404 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM Ludwig Rudolf, 1731-1735, seit 1714 in Blankenburg. Reichstaler 1731, Zellerfeld. Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Louis Rudolf, 1731-35, thaler of 1731, Zellerfeld mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1731-34 during the short reign of duke Ludwig Rudolf. It is fairly common.
