The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ETATS-UNIS, AV 10 dollars, 1882. Très Beau à Superbe.'' (United States, gold ten dollars of 1882, Philadelphia mint. Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"</blockquote> This specimen is one of a type struck at the Philadelphia mint 1839-1907. Issues are also recorded from New Orleans (1841-60, 1879-1906), San Francisco (1854-89, 1892-1907), Carson City (1870-84, 1890-93) and Denver (1906-07). In 1866, the motto "In God We Trust" was added to the reverse. This date is common in all grades thru Uncirculated altho gems are scarce.

This specimen was lot 1522 in Jean Elsen sale 150 (Brussels, March 2022), where it sold for €750 (about US$994 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ETATS-UNIS, AV 10 dollars, 1882. Très Beau à Superbe. (United States, gold ten dollars of 1882, Philadelphia mint. Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"

This specimen is one of a type struck at the Philadelphia mint 1839-1907. Issues are also recorded from New Orleans (1841-60, 1879-1906), San Francisco (1854-89, 1892-1907), Carson City (1870-84, 1890-93) and Denver (1906-07).
