This specimen was lot 4100 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $253. The catalog description[1] noted, "Belgium. Double Briquet, 1475. Flanders. Mint: Bruges. Charles the Rash. Sharply struck with attractive toning. NGC graded EF-45." Charles' death in battle in 1477 extinguished the Burgundian dynasty. His daughter Marie's marriage to Maximilian of Hapsburg brought Hapsburg rule to the Low Countries.
