This specimen was lot 73544 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $70. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Kenya|KENYA]]. 10 Cents, 1977. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Gold Shield. Emanating from the penultimate year of issue, this glistening Gem presents a very vibrant nature and a slight matte appeal on account of some die polishing. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." Jomo Kenyatta, member of the Kikuyu tribe, was the first president of Kenya (1964-1978) and appears on all coins of that period. Perennial president Daniel Arap Moi (ruled 1978-2002), appears on coins starting in 1978. The ten cents shown was issued 1969-78.
