Sincona sale 18, lot 3559

This specimen was lot 3559 in Sincona sale 18 (Zurich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 5,000 (about US$6,588 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Dukat o. J. (1779). Selten. Vorzüglich. (canton of Schwyz, undated ducat (1779), rare, extremely fine.)"

This rare type is also noted for 1781.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, .986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen: 3.46 g.
