This specimen was lot 20034 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "BELGIUM. Brabant. Couronne d'or au soleil, 1544. Antwerp Mint. Charles V (1506-55). NGC MS-63. Good strike with partial rims on both sides, free of planchet cracks or hairlines. Lustrous and attractive." The couronne d'or was issued from Antwerp and Maastricht in Brabant 1542-55, as well as Flanders, Holland, Gelderland and elsewhere. Couronnes d'or were struck again in the Spanish Netherlands about 1615-42 but by then the northern provinces had seceded.
