This specimen was lot 42266 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 100 Dollars, 2008-P. Perth Mint. Lunar Series, Year of the Rat. PCGS MS-68 Gold Shield. Produced in "Reverse Proof" style with deep frost in the fields and a polished appearance over the central designs." Honoring the Year of the Rat in the Chinese lunar calendar, the Perth mint issued this NCLT and KM 1057 ($10, 1/10 oz gold), KM 1890 ($15, 1/10 oz gold), KM 1894 ($25, 1/4 oz gold), KM 1898 ($30, 1 kg silver) and KM 1903 ($50, 1/2 oz gold).

Recorded mintage: 1,748.

Specification: 31.10 g, .999 fine gold.
