This specimen was lot 2688 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $78. The catalog description[1] noted, "QAJAR: Fath 'Ali Shah, 1797-1834, AR riyal, Rasht, AH1217, bold strike, broad flan, bold VF-EF, ex Dabestani Collection." This type was struck AH 1216-17 and Rasht is a common mint, one of at least eighteen that struck this type.
Specification: 10.36 g, silver, this specimen 10.32 g.
