This specimen is lot 1529 in Jean Elsen sale 103 (Brussels, December 2009), where it sold for 820 euro. The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, MONACO, Albert Ier (1889-1922), AV 100 francs, 1895 A, Paris. presque Superbe" (Monaco, Albert I (1889-1922), gold 100 francs, 1895-A, Paris mint, about Extremely Fine).
This type was struck in Paris 1891-1904, allegedly for use in the prince's casino in Monte Carlo. The coin matches the specification of the contemporary France 1887-A 100 francs.
Recorded mintage: 20,000.
Specification: 32.25 g, .900 fine gold, .933 troy oz AGW.
