This specimen was lot 33100 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $13,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Monaco. Albert I gold 100 Francs 1896-A MS65 NGC, Paris mint. Rose-gold color and full mint bloom. AGW 0.9334 oz." This type was struck in Paris 1891-1904, allegedly for use in the prince's casino in Monte Carlo. The coin matches the specification of the contemporary France 1887-A 100 francs.
