Heritage sale 3049, lot 31552
Zurich H3049-31552r.jpg

This specimen was lot 31552 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Zurich. City Stampfer Taler ND (c.1560) MS61 NGC, Referred to as a 'Stampfer Taler' after mintmaster Hans Jakob Stampfer, this immense selection appeals to the eye with silvery-white surfaces and well-rendered motifs for the type. Some softness is noted, but the overall nature of this specimen remains bold. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This undated type could have been struck over several years, judging from the number of varieties listed in Davenport.

Recorded Mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: HMZ-21123b, Dav-8783.
