This specimen was lot 3395 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$290 including buyers' fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''SCHWEIZ Thurgau, Kanton, Batzen 1808, Solothurn. Vorzüglich-FDC.'' ([[Switzerland]], [[Switzerland, Thurgau|canton of Thurgau]], batzen of 1808, Solothurn mint. About Uncirculated.)"</blockquote> After being temporarily unified under Napoleon's Helvetic Republic, the cantons went their separate ways after the Congress of Vienna and issued a torrent of low value coins. Not until 1850 would a unified confederation mint her own coins and terminate the local issues. This series of 1808-09, which ranged from a half kreuzer to five batzen, is all there is for this canton.
