This type was struck 1992-93 for circulation. The dates 1994-2006 were struck only for collector sets and are likely scarce. It features a salamander found only in certain caves in Slovenia. To this writer's knowledge, this is the only coin to depict an amphibian. [[Slovenia]] declared its independence in 1991. In 2007, Slovenia joined the euro.
