This specimen was lot 2047 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $336. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "SHIRVAN: Fath 'Ali Khan, 1766-1788, AR abbasi, Shamakhi, AH1188, unusually nice strike, XF, R." The Shirvan khanate is that part of [[Azerbaijan]] to the south and west of Baku. The SCWC lists its issues under the name of the capital, Shemakhi. This type was struck AH 1181-1187 and undated. The khanate was annexed by the Russians in 1819.
