This specimen was lot 2047 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "SHIRVAN: Fath 'Ali Khan, 1766-1788, AR abbasi, Shamakhi, AH1188, unusually nice strike, XF, R." The Shirvan khanate is that part of Azerbaijan to the south and west of Baku. The SCWC lists its issues under the name of the capital, Shemakhi. This type was struck AH 1181-1187 and undated. The khanate was annexed by the Russians in 1819.
