This specimen was lot 1231 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $188. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "SCHAUMBURG-PINNEBERG: AR 1/16 thaler (1)615, PCGS graded MS64, ex Don Erickson Collection." The dynastic affairs of this duchy are complicated even by German standards as the dukes were related to the king of [[Denmark]] and even the czar of Russia. This 1/16 thaler (equalled two schilling) was issued 1616-20 before the local dynasty lapsed in 1640. Pinneberg lies between Gluckstadt and Altona on the Elbe river.
