This specimen was lot 70159 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2020), where it sold for $630. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Germany|GERMANY]]. [[German States, Saxony|Saxony]]. Taler, 1606-HR. Dresden Mint. Christian II, Johann Georg I & August. NGC MS-62. Incredible quality for the type, this near choice example--tied with just one other for the finest in the NGC census--offers deep gray surfaces with a good deal of lustrous brilliance remaining." The SCWC notes this type for 1604-11. A double thaler exists ([[Saxony 1608-HvR 2 thaler Dav-7565|Dav-7565]]) but is rare.
