This specimen was lot 3298 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS JOSEF II., 1765-1790. Kurant- und Scheidemünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Josef II. ½ Konv.-Taler 1774, mit Titel Josefs II. Münzmeister Georg Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider Johann Nikolaus Körnlein. Mit großem Kopf. Prachtexemplar. Feine Patina, leicht justiert, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz.'' ([[German States, Regensburg|city of Regensburg]], convention half thaler of 1773, struck in the name of Joseph II, with large head. Cabinet example, lightly adjusted, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This type was struck in 1774 with variations in the emperor's portrait, including KM 421 (cartoon portrait, shown here) and KM 422 (small bust).
