This specimen was lot 4007 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €500 (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Die Münzstätte Düsseldorf. Taler 1818, D. Min. justiert, vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Prussia|kingdom of Prussia]], Frederick William III, 1797-1840, thaler of 1818, Düsseldorf mint. Minor adjustments, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was issued 1816-22 at Berlin and Düsseldorf (shown here) and is common in worn condition. It was not affected by the reform of 1821. The Düsseldorf mint operated until 1840.
