This specimen was lot 3709 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €320 (about US$445 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Mariengroschen 1764, F, Magdeburg. Prägung für die westlichen Landesteile. R Sehr schön +. Exemplar der Slg. Lauterbach, Auktion Frankfurter Münzhandlung 131, Frankfurt/Main 1988, Nr. 801.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Prussia|kingdom of Prussia]], Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, mariengroschen of 1764, Magdeburg mint, struck for the western provinces. Rare, very fine or better.)"</blockquote> This rare type is listed but not priced in the SCWC. It accompanied an equally scarce [[Prussia 1764-F 2 mariengroschen|two mariengroschen]]. After narrowly escaping complete destruction in the Seven Years' War, Frederick II henceforth pursued a much less warlike foreign policy.
