This specimen was lot 6117 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €550 (about US$711 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''PFALZ, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Ludwig III. 1410-1436. Goldgulden o. J. (1422), Oppenheim. Mit Beizeichen Kreuz, darunter Punkt. GOLD. Min. gewellt, sehr schön.'' (electorate of the [[German States, Pfalz|Palatinate]], Louis III, 1410-36, undated goldgulden, Oppenheim mint. With cross and dot below. Slightly bent, very fine.)"</blockquote> Goldgulden were also struck at Bacharach and Heidelberg. The design is similar but the small shields on the reverse are arranged differently. Fr-1973 has three small shields and a rosette; Fr-1974 has four shields.
