This specimen was lot 3809 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 130 CHF (about US$164 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHLAND Montfort, Grafschaft Johann VIII. 1662-1686. 2/3 Taler 1675. Fast sehr schön.'' (County of Montfort, John VIII, 1662-86, two-thirds thaler of 1675. Choice very fine.)"</blockquote>  Montfort is an extremely obscure locality on the shore of Lake Constance in Wurttemberg. We have filed it under [[Austria]] as the counts sold out to the Austrian emperor in 1780. This type is a gulden, not a thaler, and so is excluded from our list of such. Three varieties exist for this rare issue.
