This specimen was lot 5305 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €360 (about US$465 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''LIPPE, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1789 FÜRSTENTUM, Simon August, 1734-1782. 1/24 Taler 1764, Detmold. Münzmeister Johann Conrad Bandel. Stempelschneider Daniel Stürmer. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich.'' ([[German States, Lippe-Detmold|county of Lippe]], Simon Henry Adolf, 1718-34, 1/24 thaler of 1764, Detmold mint. Very scarce in this quality, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1724 only and, like all coinage from this tiny state before unification in 1871, is rare.
