This specimen was lot 175 in Sincona sale 88 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 312 CHF (about US$412 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"[[Iran|IRAN]], Qajar Dynasty, Fath-'Ali Shah, 1212-1250 AH (1797-1834). Riyal 1234 AH (1819), Tehran Mint. ''Selten;'' Rare. NGC MS62. Purchased from Moussesian, Munich, in 1988."</blockquote> This silver denomination was struck at numerous mints during the reign of Fath 'Ali Shah. This style and weight standard is listed in the SCWC as type D and was used AH 1232-1239.
