This specimen was lot 2048 in Sincona sale 25 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 13,000 CHF (about US$16,058 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"4 Ducats 1673. Knight in armour to r. with shouldered sword between the divided date. Rev. Tablet with five lines of inscription. Of great rarity. Extremely fine-uncirculated. Unusually attractive conservation. This multiple ducat was struck from gold owned by the citizens during the French occupation of the province of Holland."</blockquote> This type is listed in Friedberg along with single, triple, 3½, [[Holland 1673 4-1/2 ducats Fr-256|4½]] and [[Holland 1673 5 ducats Fr-255|five ducats]], all struck in 1673 as French armies approached.
