This specimen was lot 1425 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 1,600 (about US$2,108 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Konventionstaler 1781. Schwabach. Vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], county of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg, convention thaler of 1781, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> A few thalers and half thalers represent the entire eighteenth century coinage of this tiny state, which was promoted from county to principality in 1764 and mediatized in 1806.
