This specimen was lot 3945 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,141 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''HESSEN, HESSEN-DARMSTADT, LANDGRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1806 GROSSHERZOGTUM. Ludewig X. (I.), 1790-1806 (-1830). 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1793, Darmstadt. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Feine Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz.'' ([[Germany]], landgraviate of [[German States, Hesse-Darmstadt|Hesse-Darmstadt]], Louis X, 1790-1830, half convention thaler of 1793, Darmstadt mint. Very rare in this quality, fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"</blockquote> Two half thalers were struck in 1793, this one, with lions supporting the arms, and KM 246, with trophies supporting the reverse. Four different thalers (Dav-2336 thru -2339) also appeared in 1793.
