This specimen was lot 71502 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Great Britain|GREAT BRITAIN]]. 50 Pounds, 1998. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Quite vibrant and alluring, this glistening example represents the pinnacle in striking fineness." This type was struck 1998-2000 with an updated bust of the queen. It was accompanied by [[Great Britain 1998 100 pounds|KM 1011]] (₤100), [[Great Britain 1998 25 pounds|KM 1009]] (₤25) and [[Great Britain 1998 10 pounds|KM 1008]] (₤10).
