This specimen was lot 1435 in Sincona sale 6 (Zürich, May 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ITALIEN Genova Doge Biennali, 1528-1797. Scudo stretto 1673. Kreuz, in den Winkeln Sterne. Rv. Madonna mit Kind und Zepter auf Wolken, der Kopf umgeben von Sternenkranz. Sehr schön.'' ([[Italy]], republic of Genoa, biennial doges, scudo of 1693. Obverse: cross, with stars in the fields; reverse: Madonna and Child on a cloud with a crown of stars; very fine.)"</blockquote>  The republic of Genoa simultaneously struck [[Genoa 1680-SM scudo stretto Dav-3901|scudi stretti]], scudi largi and double scudi, which weighed 76 grams! Altho this type was struck without change from 1637 to 1725, it does not turn up often.
