This specimen was lot 12 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$1,938 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''Erfurt, Reichstaler 1621. RR Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 98, Osnabrück 2005, Nr. 3434.'' ([[Germany]], city of Erfurt, thaler of 1621. Rare, nice patina, extremely fine. from Kuenker auction 98, lot 3434.)"</blockquote>  The town was occupied by the Swedish army 1631-48 during the Thirty Years War and issued many coins during that time.
