This specimen was lot 4220 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €800 (about US$1,101 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''EMDEN, STADT Reichstaler o. J. (1618/1637), mit Titel Ferdinands II. Feine Patina, kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön +.'' (city of Emden, undated thaler struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Fine patina, small planchet cracks, very fine or better.)"</blockquote> The town of Emden lies on the windswept shores of [[German States, Ostfriesland|Ostfriesland]] on the North Sea. Another version of this thaler, with initials CP added, is attributed to Dav-5247.
