This specimen was lot 4136 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $204. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[China|CHINA]] (PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC): AR 50 yuan, 1988, Seoul 1988 - 24th Summer Olympic Games - Volleyball, in multisided capsule of issue, a few wispy obverse hairlines, a hint of reverse peripheral toning, mintage of only 3,898 pieces, Proof, S." The fifty yuan for 1988 included [[China 1988 50 yuan KM-186|KM 186]], KM 188, [[China 1988 50 yuan KM-194|KM 194]] and KM 205 (shown here). Many of the early NCLT's are today scarce. There was no market for them in China and foreign sales were poor.
