The Maria Teresa Thaler has been struck at various mints in Europe for over 200 years.  Like the Spanish American 8 reales, it has shown remarkable popularity as a silver trade coin in countries lacking the resources to strike such currency.  As such it has been countermarked and restruck in various parts of the world, most commonly in the Middle East and Africa, and has even been chopmarked for circulation in China.  The following list shows examples of the Maria Teresa Thaler as it has been modified for use in various countries.
