This specimen was lot 3477 in Sincona sale 3 (Zürich, October 2011), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,995 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "THEOPHILUS, 829-842. Mint of Syracuse Solidus 829/830. Obv. ÝQЄOFI – LOS bASIL Crowned bust with short beard, in chlamys, facing.
