This specimen was lot 1347 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $54. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Guyana, British Guiana|BRITISH GUIANA]]: AR 1/2 guilder, 1836, Fine." British Guiana, on the north coast of South America, was normally sent regular British coins (such as this [[Great Britain 1836 4 pence|groat]]) for circulation but in 1836, a series of [[British Guiana 1836 1/8 guilder|one eighth]], [[British Guiana 1836 1/4 guilder|one quarter]], one half and [[British Guiana 1836 guilder|one guilder]] coins were minted and issued. The experiment was not repeated.
