This specimen was lot 5249 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$885 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''SCHWEIZ Basel - Batzen 1805. Vorzüglich-FDC.'' (Switzerland, canton of Basel, batzen of 1805, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"</blockquote>  The SCWC notes this type for 1805 only. A similar type struck for the canton ([[Basel 1805 batzen KM-196|KM-196]]) was issued 1805-10 and is more common.
