This specimen was lot 2430 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $142.80. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "TIMURID: Sulayman Mirza, 1529-1584, AV ¼ ashrafi, ND, bold VF, R, ex Jim Farr Collection." Sulayman Mirza was lord of Badakhshan province in what is now the northeast corner of [[Afghanistan]]. Today the major exports are lapis lazuli and opium.
